Dr. John R. Asplin, M.D.
Dr. Asplin is a Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago Medical School in Chicago.
Dr. Asplin graduated from Emory University Medical School in 1981 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati in 1984.
After three years in the United States Navy, Dr. Asplin did his nephrology fellowship at the University of Chicago and began his work in kidney stones at that time under the guidance of Dr. Fredric Coe. Dr. Asplin joined the faculty at University of Chicago in 1991 and continued to collaborate with Dr. Coe in studies of the pathogenesis of kidney stone formation.
In 2000, Dr. Asplin became Medical Director at Litholink Corporation but also continues his clinical work on kidney stones at the University of Chicago.
