Cerebrovascular and myocardial diseases continue to claim the lives of the majority of patients with CKD before renal replacement therapy can be initiated. Effective management of this CVD must be initiated if the mortality of CKD is reduced. This session updates our current understanding of the pathogenesis, demographics and guidelines for management of these patients.
