Richard Amerling, MD
Richard Amerling, MD is director of Outpatient Dialysis and CRRT at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, New York, and assistant professor of medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. He received his doctor of medicine degree from Catholic University of Louvain in Brussels, Belgium, and did his medical residency at Booth Memorial Medical Center in Flushing, New York. He completed a nephrology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Amerling is a member of several professional societies, including the International Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Nephrology. As an invited lecturer, he presents extensively on advancements in the treatment of chronic kidney disease and comorbid conditions such as bone disease, anemia, the cardiorenal syndrome, and diabetes. In addition, Dr. Amerling is an editorial board member for Nephrology News & Issues and the International Journal of Artificial Organs. He has authored or coauthored over 100 publications, including original peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and abstracts, which focus on improving outcomes in patients receiving hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, issues surrounding organ donation and transplantation, and the impact of treatment guidelines on clinical practice.
