Describe the clinical and economic impact of anemia
Review normal erythropoiesis and explain the pathophysiology of anemia for several common disease states
Identify treatment options for iron-deficiency anemia
Discuss the pharmacokinetics and safety of currently available IV iron preparations
Assess pharmacoeconomic benefits of balancing ESA and iron therapy
