The controversy about the safety of calcium channel blockers in hypertension, especially of short acting dihydropyridine drugs such as short-acting nifedipine, continues to simmer, although now the pendulum seems to have swung back to the point that the validity of the original studies by Furberg are being challenged (see https://www.hdcn.com/newsal.htm#nws9195).
