Hemodialysis vs. peritoneal dialysis: A comparison of adjusted
mortality rates
Am J Kidney Dis
(Sep) 30:334-342 1997

There has been some panic in the US among PD supporters with the report of
the USRDS that mortality in PD patients is worse than in hemodialysis
patients. In Canada, however, as reported here, the results are exactly the
opposite. The divergent results are probably due to subtle biases in patient
selection operative in both countries. (Daugirdas)
