Human renin-dependent hypertension in rats made transgenic for human angiotensinogen
16th Scientific Meeting of the International Society of Hypertension
ISH Abstract Book (Jun) 16: 1996

Rats transgenic for human angiotensinogen - specific for human renin - became hypertensive when infused with human renin. This shows that increased angiotensinogen can increase blood pressure and provides a useful experimental model for human renin-dependent hypertension (Alan Jardine, M.D., Glasgow University, Scotland).
