A new, Fick-principle based method for measuring blood flow in
hemodialysis grafts validated by magnetic resonance angiography

This abstract validated a very simple and relatively inexpensive
method of measuring access flow, the Transonics ultrasound
dilution device see Krivitski et al
with a very expensive method, namely cardiac-triggered 2D phase-
contrast magnetic resonance angiography (MRA). The correlation
of the two methods was 0.91, with a mean flow of 965 with
ultrasound dilution and 1052 with MRA (the two measurements were
not done quite simultaneously).
