In a multi-center study, 48 FSGS patients unresponsive to steroids plus or minus cytotoxic therapy for 12 weeks were randomized to 6 months of prednisone 0.15 mg/kg plus either cyclosporine or placebo. There was an approximately 70% induced remission in proteinuria at 6 months without a fall in creatinine clearance in the cyclosporine treated patients compared with placebo. (Krane)
