Effect of Renalin reprocessing on small and large solute clearances by hemodialyzers
Am Soc Nephrol
J Am Soc Nephrol (abstract) (Nov) 6:607 1995

Leypoldt et al compared urea and beta-2 microglobulin clearances with new and Renalin-reused dialyzers. Reuses 1 and 15 were compared, and 4 different types of kidneys (2 high flux) were studied. There was no impact of reuse on urea clearance; however beta-2 microglobulin clearance decreased by 30% with F80A dialyzers, and by 50% with CT190G dialyzers.

Comment: The effect on beta-2 clearance may be due more to lack of use of bleach than to use of Renalin per se. (Daugirdas)
