Long-term combination home automated peritoneal dialysis and in -center hemodiafiltration for progressive neuropathy in end stage renal disease
Am Soc Nephrol
J Am Soc Nephrol (abstract) (Nov) 6:613 1995

Combined hemodialfiltration and automated PD achieved a Kt/Vurea of 4.8-5.4 L/wk, and combined urea clearance of 123.8-173.8 in three patients with moderate sensorimotor neuropathy. Over the mean observation period of 13.3 months the patients had increases in muscle strength, and on EMG improvement and reversal of axonal loss. The authors conclude that the "optimal" dialysis dose should be re-examined. (Winchester)
