Am Soc Nephrol
J Am Soc Nephrol (abstract)
(Nov) 6:567 1995
These investigators showed convincingly, that patients under
immunosuppression have more peritonitis
(69/39 vs. 99/146), are hospitalized more often (25/39 vs. 33/146) and for
longer stays (8.5 vs. 1.5
days) and have more peritoneal catheter removals (11/39 vs. 14/146). They
also are more prone to
fungal infections. The most offending treatment was combination
cyclophosphamide and prednisolone.
